1. City Sights Daytour
After pickup, we take a drive past some of Brisbane’s Heritage listed buildings including Parliament House, the Treasury Building, City Hall, St John’s Cathedral and Customs House. We travel to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (the world’s largest Koala Sanctuary). Cuddle a koala or hand feed the kangaroos with lots of photo opportunities. (Entry to the Koala Sanctuary and photo is at own expense.) On the return to the city, we stop at Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens for a stroll through the rainforest exhibit. We finish at the top of the mountain for great views over the city before returning through the suburb of Paddington with its Queenslanders - beautiful homes on stilts.
2. Brisbane Wildlife Daytour
We head out from Brisbane City through the picturesque suburb of Paddington and The Gap before stopping at the Walkabout Creek Information Centre at the entrance to Brisbane Forest Park situated on the D’Aguilar Range. This National Park was established in 1977 and covers about 28,500 hectares, of which some 6,400 is within the Brisbane area. At the centre, there is a Freshwater Wildlife Display and a number of bushwalks to choose from ranging in length from 1.5km (45 mins) to 5kms (two hours). On this Daytour, there are lots of opportunities to spot the local wildlife in the Eucalypt Forest. Around the Enoggera Reservoir built in 1866, is a great place for plentiful birdlife. Your guide will be able to help identify and explain the flora & fauna you may find. We continue further into the park and stop at Bellbird Grove for a picnic lunch and to see examples of an Aboriginal gunyah and some bush tucker on a short circuit walk. You may also hear the Bell Miners calling. In the afternoon, we head out to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (Entry to the Koala Sanctuary is at own expense) for some close up animal encounters and have your photo taken cuddling a koala.
3. BRISBANE BAYSIDE and WINERY DAYTOUR
After pickup from your hotel, our daytour travels to the Bayside suburb of Cleveland and enjoy views of Moreton Bay from a lovely waterside park with towering Fig Trees and the historic Cleveland lighthouse. After a picnic morning tea is here we travel to the Redlands Indigiscapes centre to walk through the various gardens including the Native and BushTucker displays and the information centre. Next stop is Sirromet Winery for wine tastings (included) or you can take the option of a Guided Tour of the winery and private tastings hosted by the winery staff. (Cost of Wine Tour at own expense - is $20 pp including tastings. Enclosed shoes are a must.) Your daytour then continues to the Koala bushland where we will take a fully guided bushwalk to look for koalas and other wildlife.
